I was PO'd the entire time I was reading this book. The main female character, Poppy, was incredibly poorly scripted. But if you like passive-aggressive, juvenile behavior you might like her. Manwhore childhood best friend and the subject of all her unrequited love, billionaire Jaxson, has bedded every woman in town, some of whom we meet. Poppy's constant references to his potential STD's are particularly, uh, romantic (not). Even the sex scenes were tepid. Or maybe they were tepid because there wasn't an ounce of honest interaction and the entire set-up was beyond distasteful for a couple of, uh, successful(?) adults.I kept reading to see the prank realized. And then it just kept going and going and going. Maybe the author felt that by the third stab at an ending the reader might finally like - or at least tolerate - Poppy and Jaxson.
What a couple of cowards.

This one is tough for me to rate. I didn't hate it but didn't love it eirher. I had a hard time connecting with Poppy in this. She seemed to weak of a heroine. Jax was ok for me.
Glad to enjoy this book but struggled with the vulgarity and rudeness. Figured I'm too old for it but got through it for the happy ending I was looking for. I think I wound up on some teen reading list and the characters are exercising poor judgment because the expected audience would eel they have to it that way.
Poppy and Jax grew up together and their mothers have been trying to get them together all their lives, so they come up with a plan to play a joke on their mothers but it backfires & they fall for each other again.

This book has it all and then adds fireworks to the mess of it. I couldn't put it down and I am sure you won't either. Rice Krispy popping going on,
Happy Sexy Sexy Reading
Loved Poppy and Jax's story! Their families have been friends forever and their mothers are best friends. Their mothers love to embarrass all of their children. Poppy's sister comes up with a great plan to embarrass the mom's at their joint sixtieth birthday party. Poppy and Jax go along with the plan even if it means that they have to act like they are in love. They were some funny moments in this book and it was really good! Definitely reading more by this author!
Poppy and Jax have a long history with each other beginning from the womb. Their mother's are best friends and the perpetrators of years of outlandish pranks on all their children. Jax and Poppy were once best of friends and now they are enemies who fell out of friendship that has kept Poppy away from her family and Jax for several years.
Now it's time for a big life event birthday for the moms and poppy and Jax devise a plan to pretend to be in love to spoof their mom's big time on their big day.
The story is funny, sexy hot, and even sad at times. Poppy and Jax learn a lot about each other and what they find important in life. Will it be together or apart? Read this endearing story and find out.
First let me say this, I wish this book was my life story. Okay now that's out of the way I applaud this book many times. It's so ridiculously good and the storyline??!! Gah! It's forever cemented in my head. Jax and Poppy. Sigh. What a roller coaster of a life they have and missed chances that they don't know. Will they be able to steal a moment and lay everything on the table? Will the hilarious mothers help them out or hang them out to dry? Will Jax even want to agree in the first place? Will Poppy? Find out and enjoy all the amazing, fun characters in this awesome and inspiring book. It will have you laughing, crying, angry and surprised the whole time. Grab this book and tell your friends about it because this is one y'all will not want to miss.
